FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- The Fargo Park Board has voted to give the school district permission to build a new elementary school at Ed Clapp Park in south Fargo.
Board members recommended it be called "Ed Clapp Elementary," named for the longtime Fargo business leader and developer.
Some residents living closest to the park voiced concerns about the possibility of increased traffic and the danger that presents to children walking to school.
A traffic study will be done by the city to address those concerns.
Park Board members say they will be participating in a tradeoff deal with the schools which will allow them to use the new facilities.
The school board will vote on the new school during their November 26th meeting.
