BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Gov. Jack Dalrymple has appointed East Central District Court Judge Lisa Fair McEvers, of Fargo, to the North Dakota Supreme Court.
Dalrymple announced the appointment Monday. McEvers will replace Justice Mary Muehlen Maring, who announced in September that she'll retire at the end of the year with four years remaining on her 10-year term.
McEvers was one of a dozen judges and lawyers who applied for the position. The Judicial Nominating Committee pared the list of 12 people to the four finalists.
McEvers has been a district court judge since September 2010 and presides over civil and criminal cases.
