Dickinson, ND (KFGO-AM) Last weekend's early winter storm that hit southwest North Dakota has taken a toll on pheasants. That's in the state's prime hunting region.
State Game & Fish Department Upland Game Manager Aaron Robinson says it's not good news for hunters heading to the field for this saturday's opener. He says losses appear to be "significant" south of I-94 and east of highway 85.Robinson says it's a double whammy.
The state's pheasant population was already off about 30% from last fall because of an extended winter and late spring.
