FARGO (KFGO-AM -- The investigative committee of the State Supreme court is recommending a suspension for a Fargo judge.
The judicial conduct commission says East-Central District Judge Wickham Corwin should be removed from the bench for two months, without pay.
The recommendation comes after a special hearing in June. Corwin was accused of trying to start an affair with a female court reporter.
KFGO News was the first to report on the case, in July of last year. The woman, who never filed a formal complaint, said Corwin, who is married, suggested that they could keep the affair discreet. The court reporter is now working with another judge.
Corwin has called the claims, an "unbelieveable misunderstanding." The committee says his conduct was clearly harrassment and he should pay nearly $12,000 in costs.
The Supreme Court must decide whether to follow the commission's recomendation. Corwin was elected in 2008. his term is up next year.
