WASHINGTON, D.C. (KCND Radio) -- After years of delays, negotiations on a new five-year, nearly $500 billion Farm Bill are scheduled to begin this week.
Senator Heidi Heitkamp says there's hope a new agreement can be hammered out.

The bipartisan Senate bill cuts $4 billion from food stamps over the next five years.
The Republican-passed House bill, which had no Democratic support, cuts $40 billion.
