DILWORTH, Minn (KFGO AM) -- The Dilworth City Council discussed, but didn't decide last night, whether to continue with its police department or whether to contract those services with the sheriff's department.
City leaders say they need more information before they make a decision.
The cost of using Clay County deputies for routine patrols in Dilworth wouldn't be cheap.
Sheriff Bill Bergquist is still finalizing figures, but expects the cost to be "several hundred thousand" dollars each year.
Dilworth has six full-time police officers and three part-timers.
Chief Josh Ebert recently resigned after less than two years on the job.
