Moorhead (KFGO AM) The Minnesota Senate bonding tour hit Moorhead Wednesday. City officials put on a full-court press, giving the Interim Capitol Investments Committee a bus tour of flood protection projects built in the last four years. The committee will decide which projects statewide will be included in the 2014 bonding bill.
Moorhead City Engineer Bob Zimmerman hopes to get $7.2 million included in the bill. The money would be used to wrap up flood protection for the city. Committee member Senator Kent Eken says there are no promises about what makes the list, but he says Moorhead made a stong case. He calls it impressive.
Since the 2009 flood, Moorhead has spent about $80 million on flood mitigation projects.
MSUM and M-State also made pitches to the committee for expansion and renovation plans on both campuses.
