MINOT, ND. (KFGO AM) -- North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring had no problem securing the Republican party's endorsement in a run for a second term.
Yesterday, at the party's convention, Goehring picked up 624 votes from delegates.
He faced an intra-party challenge for the job from Judy Estenson, a nurse and farmer from Warwick who was backed by the state Farm Bureau, who received 245 votes.
Estenson says she won't continue her campaign to the primary.
Ryan Taylor, a rancher and former Democratic state senate leader from Towner, will face Goehring for Agriculture Commissioner this fall.
