As expected, Aerosmith and ex- Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash revealed on Tuesday that they will hook up for a major joint North American trek this summer.  The Let Rock Rule tour will kick off with a July 10 show in Wantagh, New York, and is scheduled to run all the way through a September 12 concert in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  Slash will be accompanied by his solo band Miles Kennedy and the Conspirators .

Aerosmith and Slash announced their tour plans at a press event at L.A.'s famous Whisky a Go Go club that included a special half-hour performance in front of a packed crowd.  Steven Tyler and the boys kicked things off with a couple of 1970s gems, "Draw the Line" and "Same Old Song and Dance," followed by their 1997 hit "Pink" and their 1975 classic "Walk This Way."

For the mini-set's finale, Slash joined Aerosmith on stage and added some blazing riffs to a rendition of the band's "Mama Kin."  The rockers then delivered an abbreviated run through GN'R's "Welcome to the Jungle" and a sizzling version of the 1950s blues scorcher "Train Kept A-Rollin'."  During the performance, Joe Perry announced that the last time Aerosmith played at the Whiskey a Go Go was December 3, 1973.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler says about the tour in a statement, "Looking forward to inciting a riot and building the tribal bonfire even higher -- it's a win win with Slash."

Adds Slash, "Aerosmith is one of my all-time favorite bands, and one of the greatest rock & roll bands of all time.  It's an honor for me to go out & tour with them and keep the rock & roll banner flying high."

Tickets for the most of the concerts go on sale to the general public starting this Monday, April 14, at LiveNation.com and via the Live Nation mobile app.  Aerosmith and Slash also will offer pre-sale tickets and packages through their respective websites, Aerosmith.com and SlashOnline.com.  Dates for a second tour leg are expected to be revealed soon.
