MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (KFO AM -- Crews are removing the artificial turf at TCF Bank Stadium this week to prepare for the Minnesota Vikings.

The NFL team will play the 2014 and 2015 seasons on the U of M campus while their new stadium is under construction.

The Vikings are installing a heating system under the field as part of $6.6-million in renovations to the Gophers' stadium.

The old turf will be taken out by Friday and the Vikes plan to have the heated field installed by June.
