ROSEAU, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- The Corps of Engineers says it has received the necessary funding to complete the construction of Roseau's flood protection project.
The final phase of construction is scheduled to begin this summer.
The work got underway five years ago.
Together, the Corps and the City of Roseau have spent more than $29-million to reduce the risk of flooding in Roseau.
The project includes a four-and-a-half mile diversion channel, engineered to reduce the flow of the Roseau River within the city.
