Aerosmith has canceled its concert scheduled for tonight at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California, citing an unspecified illness. TMZ reports that the reason the rockers have nixed the show is that drummer Joey Kramer has been experiencing heart problems.
TMZ also says that it has learned from a crew member of the band that the 64-year-old Kramer will be undergoing a heart operation, although that news is unconfirmed. A source close to Aerosmith claims that the drummer has had previous issues with his heart. In addition, according to the website, a source informed them that Aerosmith's next concert, a show this Saturday in George, Washington, also will be canceled.
Fans holding tickets for tonight's concert in Concord can get a refund at the point of purchase. Aerosmith's Let Rock Rule tour with opening act Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is scheduled to run through a September 12 appearance at Cape Fest 2014 in Nova Scotia, Canada.
ABC News Radio has reached out to Aerosmith's publicist for a comment about the cancellation but hasn't received a response.
