Former Red Hold Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and former Mars Volta multi-instrumentalist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez have joined forces to form a new band: Kimono Kult .

The group -- whose lineup also includes Le Butcherettes / Bosnian Rainbows singer Teri Gender Bender , Swahili Blonde drummer Nicole Turley , and Dante White and Laena Geronimo of Dante Vs. Zombies -- is ready to give us a taste of their first single, "Todo Menos El Dolor," which translates into English as “Everything, Anything but the Pain."

Gender Bender says she hopes the Spanish-language cut, currently streaming at RollingStone.com , will resonate with listeners and stoke the fires of their imaginations. “Spanish speaking or not, it goes way beyond language and [is] more about atmosphere,” she tells Rolling Stone . “To me it could be a story about an alien that wanted to eat cats but it caused the critter so much pain [that] he became a vegetarian. Every interpretation is valid. "

Kimono Kult will release their debut EP , Hiding in the Light, on March 4.
