LEITH, N.D. (AP) -- City officials in Leith will not appeal the decision by a state attorney disciplinary board committee to reject a complaint filed against Grant County State's Attorney Todd Schwarz.
Leith officials accused Schwarz of acting unprofessionally and possibly unethically while prosecuting white supremacist Craig Cobb, who unsuccessfully tried to take over the town. Cobb agreed to a plea deal with Schwarz that put him on probation for terrorizing and menacing and kept him out of prison.
Schwarz called the complaint frivolous, and the committee recently dismissed it. Leith officials could appeal to the disciplinary board, but town spokesman Greg Bruce says the city will not challenge the committee's decision.
