Despite published reports to the contrary,
Nine Inch Nails
will not be leaving his role with Beats Music once Apple completes its acquisition of the company.
Over the weekend USA Today reported that Reznor, who is Beats Music's chief creative officer, had already left the company. But apparently that is not the case. Reps for both Reznor and Beats tell Billboard that Reznor is still with the company and will remain in his role after the Apple acquisition.
Founded by rapper/producer Dr. Dre and producer and label honcho Jimmy Iovine , Beats -- both the Beats Music streaming service and the headphone and electronics group -- is being acquired by Apple for just over $3 billion. The deal is expected to close this fall. Reznor has been with the company since 2012.
