FARGO, N.D. (KFGO AM) -- Isolated severe storms that popped up yesterday afternoon prompted a series of tornado warnings across southeast North Dakota.

Warning sirens sounded in Casselton and Mapleton when doppler radar indicated rotation in the clouds but there was no sign of a funnel cloud.

One funnel cloud was reported just east of Chaffee, in south central Cass County around 5:00 PM, but it did not touch down.

Brief heavy rain was reported in Cass County.

KFGO "Cell Net" callers reported numerous vehicles pulled off I-94 west of Casselton because of near zero visibility.

There were also scattered reports of half-to-three quarter inch hail across Cass County.

Hansboro, in Towner County reported hail the size of ping-pong balls.
