BISMARCK (KFGO-AM) - A wild night of weather across southwest North Dakota. Heavy rain, large hail and at least one tornado touchdown was reported.
National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Abeling in Bismarck says there were multiple funnel cloud sightings. The tornado touched down around 9:20 PM, 13 miles southwest of Dickinson in open country with no reports of damage.
Most of the hail that fell was quarter to golf ball sized with some isolated reports of baseball size hail in Stark County. About an inch and quarter of rain fell in less than an hour in Dickinson.
