BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota transportation officials have a message for truckers who want to move heavy loads: Get it done.
The state Transportation Department says seasonal load limits could go in effect in the next week on all state and federal highways in North Dakota.
The weight restrictions guard against damage to roads made susceptible by the spring thaw. They're lifted when roadbeds have stabilized enough to handle normal traffic, which is generally in May.
Current seasonal load restriction information is available on the DOT website or by dialing 511.
