FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The two candidates for Fargo mayor agree, that it may be time to consider changing the job from part-time to full-time status. But Mayor Dennis Walaker, seeking his third term, says he doesn't believe he should bring the issue forward.
Commissioner Brad Wimmer, who's challenging Walaker, says converting the office to full-time needs to be investigated.
Wimmer says he may also support a city manager form of government. However, he says he would not endorse a larger city commission.
Walaker said he would support lifting North Dakota's ban on same-sex marriage. Wimmer responded by saying he would not "stand in the way" of lifting the ban.
Walaker and Wimmer met in their only "live" broadcast debate on KFGO. Voters will decide the race on June 10.
